LARGO TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
To help expand horizons, create friendships, and make a difference in Largo, Largo teens are encouraged to apply for the City of Largo Recreation, Parks & Arts Teen Volunteer (LTV) Program. LTV empowers middle and high school teenagers to become leaders and ambassadors of their community by working directly with Largo Recreation staff. Teens will learn valuable life experiences and create friendships and memories. The LTV program is service-based, rewarding, and taps into teen interests.
Applications for the 23/24 School Year Will Be Available in August.
Who can join?- Current students in grades 6-12.
- Teens that have a passion to give back to their community, work in an environment with children and have the desire to be in Recreation or related field as a career.
- Are available to attend once-a-month meetings and mandatory community projects (listed on the application).
- Posting on the official Largo Recreation (@playlargo) & Instagram account during select recreation programs as well as the official Largo Teens Instagram account (@largoteens). Available for High School students only.
- At the end of the school year, teens will receive a special night of celebration hosted by Largo Recreation as our way of saying thank you.
LTV is held during the school year beginning in September and ends in May, with meetings once a month in the evenings at Highland Recreation. For more information, please call (727)518-3016.
TEEN PROGRAMS
Largo Teen programs are designed specifically for middle and high school students. These programs give teens a place to hang out, socialize with friends, and just have a good time. Teen programs are available at Highland Recreation Complex and Southwest Recreation Complex.
- Counselor in Training (CIT) Summer Program
- Teen Tidal Wave at Highland Family Aquatic Center (Jun-Aug)
- TGIF Teens at Highland Recreation (Sep-Apr)
- Teen Special Needs Social Club at Southwest Recreation (Last Friday of every month)
