Our Arts & Crafts classes offer our patrons both young and old a chance to express themselves through a variety of different mediums, including painting, pottery, drawing, pastels and more. Join this amazing group for great socialization, support, and the opportunity to create beautiful crochet, knit cross stitch, needlepoint, and other craft items. Many are sent to various non-profit organizations and hospitals in need of blankets, lap robes, newborn hats, burn patients safe toys, and more. Personal projects are also encouraged at any time. All skill levels welcome and hands-on help is available for out of practice or new participants.
Students will learn the basic essentials for creating dimensional, life-like paintings using various paint applications, working from still life set ups or by using their own photographic reference. We invite experienced potters to come enjoy our studio. No instruction is available on site. Amenities include six pottery wheels, extruder, slab roller, and kiln. Price includes firing only. Studio opens October 5.
Learn how to use the potters wheel, how to hand build, the secrets to glazing and about the firing process. Materials fee: $25 for clay when needed and $10 monthly for glazes paid to instructor. Preregistration required. No class November 26 and December 24. Class begins October 1.
This class will cover everything you need to know to paint in watercolor, focusing on fun and exploring different techniques with the end result being a completed painting. Preregistration required. No class November 11. Class begins October 7.
Paint your very own masterpiece. Price includes 16" x 20" canvas, all paints and supplies and one beverage Community Center(beer, wine, soda, bottled water, coffee or tea). Preregistration no later than one week prior to each session.
Learn more comic book, cartooning, cover design, storytelling, and pinup art. Award-winning illustrator and comic book artist, Peter Pachoumis intermediate/advanced class is the perfect place for you. Additional $30 materials fee paid to the instructor if needed.
This three week per month teen art class will focus on monthly subjects in watercolor, drawing and pottery. (Additional $15 supply fee due to instructor on pottery months.) Preregistration required. Class begins October 7.
