Designed to provide teenagers with real camp counselor experience at various City of Largo Summer Camps. Teens will develop essential leadership skills, create summer camp lesson plans, learn how to work with children and most importantly, have fun. Participants can earn volunteer hours that meet the qualifications for Bright Futures through Pinellas County Schools and other extracurricular school groups. Teens will also learn life skills that will aid in the next steps of their education and career path. Job selection, interview skills, budgeting, social skills, and creating a resume are some of the possible topics that will be covered. Teens that have completed grades 8-12 will be given priority over younger applicants. Arm yourself with foam weapons and defense gear, including swords, shields, bows, spears, and more. Then pick up skills and enjoy some excellent medieval and Norse-inspired games, some history of warfare, weapons, civilization and a lot of fun! All weapons will be pro-vided. Cups and helmets encouraged but not required.
Kids will have a blast playing fun games in the gym, Playworld, and the Game Room. The Snack Shop will be open for pizza, drink, and snack purchases. Child registration form required for each participant. Register for the season for faster check in and discounted rate. Younger children are offered separate activities in the preschool room and must be potty trained. Ask about our after-school program wrap around fee for childcare from 6-6:30p with pizza included.

Teens will be granted access to the fitness center without a parent/guardian presence upon completion. Teens will learn proper form, technique, the importance of body awareness and safety. Participants will leave with a developed workout to get them started on their own. Regular fitness center fees apply upon completion.
The Art of Lightsaber Choreography is a class dedicated to the stage combat forms used to create exciting fights like the ones seen in a galaxy far, far away. Every class will focus on the basics of stances, foot work, strikes and parries used to create a thrilling theatrical fight for stage or screen. The art of lightsaber choreography is not a martial art, but rather a theater art form that will help you build coordination, confidence and creativity.

This class will focus on the basics of how to draw cartoons. Youth will be introduced to different drawing techniques, story telling, and preparing their artistic understanding of their work with a new drawing project monthly. They'll also learn how drawing can be a means of communication, allowing a safe environment to draw their feelings and attitudes in ways that words cannot express. Children will also explore other genres such as comic books/strips, anime and illustrations. Please arrive with your sketch book, drawing pencils (black and colored) and eraser.

Kids will work on speed, combined agility drills, and cross-training providing a total body workout that will get them excited about physical activity. This is a youth group fitness class.
Zumba® Kids classes feature kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® choreography. The instructor will break down the dance steps, add games, activities, and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. Zumba® Kids incorporate key childhood development elements like leadership, respect, teamwork, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, cultural awareness. No program on November 26 and December 24.

Formerly Kids Fun Battle Night, bring your soft dart gun for a fun night of battle games. Kids will burn off some energy while playing fun games and challenges. Eye protection required. Space is limited.
Welcome to the world of braiding. In this workshop, students will learn a variety of hair braiding techniques on all hair types using mannequins. They will be inspired to dream above and beyond with vision boards while also understanding the history and culture of hair braiding, and so much more. This program is brought to you by Operation Young Boss through Dyvine Appointments Training Institute.
All materials will be provided but if you prefer to take home your own kit, you may do so by bringing funds to instructor day of. Kit with mannequin is $95 and without is $50. All kits include combs, clips, hair products, and other tools needed.
