The Largo Police Department proudly announces its centennial milestone, marking 100 years of unwavering commitment to public safety and community service. Established in 1924, the Largo Police Department has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and implementing innovative strategies to uphold its mission.

To commemorate the historic occasion, the Largo Police Department has planned to celebrate throughout this year, including a grand centennial community celebration. This event aims to not only honor the department’s rich history but also strengthen the bonds between law enforcement and the Largo community. The community is invited to enjoy station tours, K9 demos, bounce houses, face-painting, vendors and more.

“Reaching our 100th Anniversary is a significant milestone for the Largo Police Department. We are immensely proud of our history, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing exceptional service to the residents of Largo,” said Chief Mike Loux. “The centennial celebration is an opportunity for us to reflect on our achievements, express our gratitude to the community, and look forward to continued collaborations in the years to come.”

The Largo Police Department invites the community to join in the centennial festivities and share in the celebration of a century of dedication and service.
