COVID Positive Case at Highland Recreation Complex
To promote transparency, Recreation, Parks, and Arts Administration received notice today, June 25 that a camp counselor has tested positive COVID-19. The community shares in concern for this team member and hopes for a speedy recovery.
The individual is receiving medical guidance and their last day of work was Friday, June 19. No other information will be provided in order to protect the employee's identity and in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) protections.
Individuals that have come in direct contact have been immediately identified and are being personally contacted. To preserve the health and wellness of our patrons and team members, Highland Recreation Center and the Highland Family Aquatic Center will close as of 6pm on Thursday, June 25 and remain closed on Friday, June 26. During this time, City of Largo staff will not only complete regular building tasks but also focus on disinfecting frequently touched items, common areas, and restrooms. The building will also be disinfected through the "fogging" system, as an additional safety precaution.
