Highland Recreation Complex to Open June 1, 2020

Highland Recreation Complex will open beginning Monday, June 1, 2020, in a limited capacity. The City of Largo’s Recreation, Parks, and Arts Department is committed to offering a safe environment for our patrons and team members. Operational precautions will be taken based on the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and incorporate social distancing. To preserve the health and safety of our community, Highland will open with the following:

  • Due to summer camps held at this facility, the hours below will be for adults only until further notice.

    • Monday-Friday, 5-6:45am and 6:30-9pm

    • Saturday, 7am-2:30pm

    • Sunday, 8:30am-2:30pm

  • Highland Family Aquatics Center will operate in a limited capacity. All play structures, slides, and spray features will be closed. 

  • Team members will assist customers in scanning their membership and healthcare care cards at check-in. 

  • Participants are encouraged to add money on their membership accounts to limit the use of cash and credit card readers. 

  • The fitness room will operate at 50% capacity (28). 

  • Patrons can call ahead to determine availability.

  • Every other cardio machine will be temporarily closed. 

  • Participants will be asked to wipe down fitness room equipment before and after each use. Sanitizing supplies will be available in each fitness room. 

  • Programs will be limited to ten people and incorporate social distancing of six feet apart. 

  • Participants may not gather before or after programs anywhere in the facility.

  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own fitness and sports equipment. 

  • Group fitness and sports equipment will be sanitized between classes. 

  • The facility staff will sanitize fitness room equipment frequently throughout the day. 

  • A deep cleanse of the facilities will take place each evening. 

  • Birthday party reservations are on hold.
